Review: First Grave on the Right (#1)

Summary: Charley Davidson is the Grim Reaper, but in a good way. Using her ability to talk to the dead, she has made a name for herself with a private PI business. When the search for the very hot and very illusive Reyes Farrow, Charley's childhood crush, turns into a race against his life will the Grim Reaper be able to help a man cheat death?

Review: A new take on the Grim Reaper, Charley and her friends are in a book of their own. Jones has created a wonderful world that readers will not only be entertained by the sharp, sarcastic dialogue, but also by the mystery and sense of adventure she has produced. Hitting many genres in one fantastic sweep, First Grave on the Right is sure to please a variety of readers!

Princess for Hire (#1)

Summary: (from Goodreads) When Desi Bascomb gets discovered by the elite Facade Agency–royalty surrogates extraordinaire–her life goes from glamour-starved to spectacular in a blink. As her new agent, Meredith, explains, Desi has a rare magical ability: when she applies the ancient Egyptian formula “Royal Rouge,” she can transform temporarily into the exact lookalike of any princess who needs her subbing services. Dream come true, right?
Well, Desi soon discovers that subbing involves a lot more than wearing a tiara and waving at cameras. Like, what do you do when a bullying older sister puts you on a heinous crash diet? Or when the tribal villagers gather to watch you perform a ceremonial dance you don’t know? Or when a princess’s conflicted sweetheart shows up to break things off–and you know she would want you to change his mind?
In this hilarious series debut, one girl’s dream of glamour transforms into something bigger: the desire to make a positive impact. And an impact Desi makes, one royal fiasco at a time.

Review: Possibly one of my favorite young readers book, Princess for Hire, takes the cake! Desi, while timid at first, grows into a beautiful character and brings readers along for a magical ride. Through blunders and errors, she finds herself vaulted into the world of princess subbing. With each sub, Desi connects with her princess resulting in some interesting outcomes! Perfect for all ages and a charming distraction from happily ever afters.

Review: This Pen for Hire (#1)

Summary: Jaine Austen writes for a living. Well, personal ads, brochures, and in Howard Murdoch's case, love letters. That is until the letter that Jaine writes connects geeky Murdoch to the murder of Stacy Lawrence, hot aerobic instructor. In her heart of hearts Jaine knows Murdoch isn't the killer and sets off to figure out who really did. With the help of a new friend and threats on her life, can Jaine find the real killer before she's next?

Review: A fun and witty novel that is as entertaining as it is quick to read. Set in trendy, plastic LA Levine dances the line between outrageous and down to earth magnificently. Readers will instantly fall in love with Jaine's best friend and her cat, Prozac. Perfect for an afternoon pleasure lounging on the beach or just snuggled on the couch on a rainy day. Either way, This Pen for Hire blends mystery and chick-lit with ease for our enjoyment.

Austen fans, beware. The only thing linking the two is the misspelled name.

Under Construction

Through my extensive reading, and variance of subjects, I have found myself scouring the bookstores and internet for new books to read and found only impersonal algorithms that are as unhelpful as a bag of bricks in winter.

I'm here to break that chain of frustration for others. This post is just the beginning and I have a plan, a vision for this. When I've compiled everything, you will just need to search a name, a genre, a title, and find a list of books I deem a good match.

My door is always open. If you want a more personal touch to finding a book you like, feel free to e-mail me at
